The Celebrity Big Brother walker admitted that she “got it wrong” during an appearance on Jeremy Vine this morning.
Pallett quit Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother on Friday (31st August) after accusing co-star Ryan Thomas of deliberately hurting her with his fists.
“A boy has punched me repeatedly, unprovoked and deliberately punched me, like a boxer punches a bag,” she told Big Brother before refusing to share a bedroom with Thomas on Wednesday night
The former Emmerdale star has been widely condemned for misrepresenting Thomas’s playful behaviour, for trying to tarnish the ex-Corrie actor’s reputation and for “making a mockery” out of domestic abuse.
Joining Vine on the first edition of his new show, a seemingly contrite Pallett said that viewing footage of her encounter with Ryan had been a priority for her after exiting the house and it had made her realise that she “got it really wrong”.
“I massively apologise to Ryan, his family, his friends, everyone who saw an overreaction to what wasn’t a malicious act,” she said adding that she regretted in particular describing Ryan’s actions as deliberate.
The actress went on to say that she feels “mortified” that she has undermined abuse. Asked about her motivations for appearing on the Jeremy Vine programme, she replied;
“I chose to be here today. I was actually advised not to appear and I’m not getting paid for this interview. It’s been the hardest thing I have ever had to do but I’m here today to acknowledge a mistake.”
Pallett opted out of Celebrity Big Brother following being the subject of negative chants during Ben Jardine’s eviction. She had also created an atmosphere in the house by sharing her accusations against Thomas with their fellow housemates.
