Little Mix, BTS, The 1975, Charli XCX, HRVY and Hollywood actors including Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Emma Stone and Benedict Cumberbatch are set to host their own hour long shows on BBC Radio 1 this Christmas Day.

From 10am through to 4pm on Christmas Day Radio 1 is to welcome a host of celebrities to the airwaves in a six hour star studded pre-recorded extravagansa. If you don’t want carols while cooking the dinner or the kids have had enough of opening endless presents full of socks then the Beeb have the answer.

Radio 1’s Superstar Playlists – which is also available on BBC Sounds – will see Little Mix sharing their favourite songs and performing Christmas classics on kazoos, BTS trying out British traditions – including mince pies and Christmas crackers – for the first time, Charli XCX calling for Kylie Jenner to release a Christmas song, and The 1975 ranking their favourite Christmas chocolates.

Joining Radio 1’s film critic Ali Plumb for the Hollywood All-Stars line-up are some of the biggest names in film including Emma Stone, Hailee Steinfeld, Michael B Jordan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jack Whitehall, Claire Foy, Keira Knightley, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Taron Egerton, John C Reilly and Sarah Silverman, all choosing their favourite Christmas songs to curate the ultimate Superstar Playlist.

We know you must be thrilled to the bone about this festive blockbuster of radio special, if you’re under 25, so put a reminder on your iPad so you don’t miss a moment of the fun.

The six hours begins at 10am with sixty minutes in the company of Little Mix. It’s followed at 11am by HRVY. At Midday it’s BTS with Radio 1’s Adele Roberts then at 1pm the airwaves are handed over to Charli XCX. 2pm brings listeners the delights of The 1975 and the final hour, from 4pm, is Radio 1’s Hollywood All-Stars.
