Game of Thrones’ Iron Throne to tour the UK and Ireland.

“With one of the greatest shows of television’s golden era coming to its end, we wanted to give fans something special to remember it by. The 7 Kingdoms Tour will do just that with fans getting the chance to experience what it feels like to sit on the Iron Throne before the eventual crowning moment at the end of the season.” – Sky’s Director of Programmes Zai Bennett

Game of Thrones’ iconic Iron Throne will tour the UK and Ireland to celebrate the show’s final series on Sky Atlantic next month. The hugely popular fantasy epic will return to UK screens for its final run of episodes on Monday April 15th and the broadcaster will bring the Iron Throne to seven cities across the UK and Ireland from April 3rd.

The ‘7 Kingdoms Tour’ will give fans the chance to follow in the footsteps of Kings Robert, Joffrey, Tommen and Queen Cersei by taking their place on the throne.

GoT fans in Glasgow will be able to sit on the show’s famous power seat.

The throne will also be heading to Birmingham.

Followers of the multi-award-winning programme, based on George R. R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ book series, will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to be pictured on the show’s hotly contested seat of power.

Starting in Dublin on the 3rd of April, the tour will take in all 7 kingdoms of Ireland and the British Isles, including Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, London, Cardiff and Birmingham. The throne will be stationed at Kings Cross in London when the first episode airs on April 15th.

“I can’t wait for the final season of Game of Thrones and am very excited for the 7 Kingdoms Tour. While the likes of Cersei and Joffrey were fully prepared to cheat, lie and murder to sit in the throne, it’s great that fans of the show don’t quite need to go to those lengths. Aside from giddily awaiting the start of the final season, I’ll also be hosting the final series of Thronecast, starting with a special series preview on Sky Atlantic.” – Thronecast presenter and 7 Kingdoms Tour ambassador Sue Perkins

The throne will also head to Newcastle.
