Channel 5 has confirmed that Big Brother Live From The House has been axed due to poor ratings.
Live From The House, which airs on 5* for two hours a day from 7.00pm, will no longer air from Saturday 6th July. The live feed will now be replaced with repeats of The Hotel Inspector and Extreme Fishing with Robson Green.
The decision was taken after less than 60,000 viewers were tuning into the latest action direct from the house. Channel 5 introduced the steam this series following complaints from fans. They had been campaigning for 24/7 live feed to return which has not been seen since the final series on Channel 4.
Big Brother moved to Channel 5 in 2011 with no live coverage for series 12, with producers promising more online content via social media sites. Fans flooded the official Big Brother Facebook page at the time to vent their anger.
Live streaming has been an important part of the show since it first began in 2000. In the early years, viewers had the chance to watch multi-camera live streams from the house.
Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
