One to Watch: Sgt Stubby: An Unlikely Hero, Sky Cinema Premiere from today

This family animation (2018, Sky PG) from director Richard Lanni makes its debut on Sky Cinema Premiere from today with the voices of Logan Lerman, Helena Botham Carter and Gérard Depardieu.

The movie is the incredible true story of America’s top underdog. As the world prepares for World War I, a stray dog with a stubby tail wanders into the Yale University grounds where the 102nd Infantry Regiment are training. Taken in by young cadet Robert Conroy, the newly christened “Stubby” begins an adventure that finds him and his human friends in the trenches of France.

Through harsh conditions and incredible acts of courage, Stubby would become the first canine to be officially promoted to the rank of Sergeant in US army history – and this is his story.
