Who needs Taskmaster when you can mix comedy and cooking on Dave?
“Having my own TV series has been a dream come true. I’ve grown up obsessed with watching cooking programmes and making homemade food, so to now be able to do that on TV is a surreal feeling. I’m a massive fan of the channel Dave and I can’t wait to start filming!” – Big Zuu
Dave has just announced a brand-new factual entertainment commission; Big Zuu’s Big Eats which will air early 2020 for a ten-part series.
Big Zuu’s Big Eats is hosted by London based grime artist and DJ Big Zuu. Taking his passion for cooking on the road, each 40-minute episode will see Big Zuu prepare mouth-watering, made-to-order dishes for a famous comedian on tour in the UK. Guest comedians making an appearance in the series include Rosie Jones and Desiree Burch, among others.
The show will be produced by Boomerang
“Big Zuu is just the kind of extraordinary raw talent we’ve been looking for. Bags of charisma, effortless charm, infectious humour and true authenticity. As a touring artist, he acutely understands life on the road, and the instant gratification delicious food brings. All of which makes his partnership with some of the UK’s finest comics that more exciting” – Natalie Rose, UKTV commissioning executive
Dave continues to work with the best of British comedy, with the rest of the year bringing more episodes of Comedians Giving Lectures and brand-new series Dave Gorman: Terms and Conditions Apply.
Next year will see Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont team up for Meet The Richardsons, the return of Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster’s Hypothetical and the current ninth series of Taskmaster is now on air on Dave before it heads off to Channel 4 in 2020 for its tenth run.
