Casting details released for ITV drama Finding Alice

The six-part series was first announced by the broadcaster in October.

ITV previously revealed that Bodyguard’s Keeley Hawes would take on the titular role in the drama with newly-released casting details noting that Gemma Jones and Kenneth Cranham will star as Minnie and Gerry, Alice’s in-laws. Rounding out the core cast is Isabella Pappas as Alice and Harry’s teenage daughter Charlotte, and Sharon Rooney as Harry’s sister Nicola.

Joanna Lumley, Nigel Havers, Jason Merrells are also set to appear in the ‘blackly comic’ series which follows a woman whose husband’s sudden and accidental death unearths a trail of secrets, debt, suspicion and criminality.

“To have such a strong calibre of actors join the cast alongside Keeley to breathe life into these complex characters is incredibly exciting, and I look forward to audiences meeting them.” – Nicola Shindler, Executive Producer

Harry dies after falling down the stairs when he and Alice move into their newly finished dream house.

Harry settled upon the house’s design and quirks and being left to acclimatise to it alone adds to Alice’s sense of loss and abandonment. However, being unable to open the garage doors is the least of her problems…

The series was created by Roger Goldby, Keeley Hawes and Simon Nye and will be produced by Red Production Company in association with Bright Pictures TV, Buddy Club Productions and Genial Productions.

“I am absolutely delighted to be working with the brilliant Simon Nye and the hugely talented Roger Goldby on a project that means so much to all of us. I have been a huge fan of Nicola Shindler for many years and I’m thrilled to be working with her at last on Finding Alice.” – Keeley Hawes
