Sky & Radio 5 Live set to commentate ‘offtube’ for England cricket series in India

Sky Sports and BBC Radio 5 live are set to commentate from here in the UK rather than in India in the up and coming cricket series after disputes with the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI).

Usually, this isn’t a problem in other countries and part of a contract. This left Sky either having to stay in London and use the BCCI host broadcast commentary or ‘off-tube’ from London.

One of Sky’s cricket commentators David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd tweeted: “At this stage Sky will not be in India” Although “Again , to be clear , the India Series will be on Sky with Sky commentary”

The Times newspaper has also said that BBC Radio 5 live’s test match special have been hit with a bill for £50,000 for the use of using facilities across in India, usually this isn’t a problem elsewhere…

Jonathan Agnew from TMS tweeted: “Real danger that TV and radio commentary will all be done from home, rather than India (if we do it at all) “
