Women’s England squad see ‘fame boost’ following Euro 2022 win

Football is home, and those who helped it happen are now celebrities…

The Lionesses’ historic win at the Euro’s has captivated the country, and is now confirmed as the most watched women’s Euros in history – with viewership figures up by 58%, according to UEFA.

With this in mind, experts at BestCasinoSites.net decided to explore which members of the women’s England squad have seen the biggest boost in Instagram followers since the tournament began, and who has the highest earning potential for sponsored posts among the Lionesses.

The Lioness with the highest earning potential on Instagram is Leah Williamson, the 25 year old versatile defender could earn a whopping £1,605 for a sponsored post on her account. 

Williamson is also the Lioness with the highest follower count, totalling 473,000 followers. Her role as captain of the national team may have secured her more notoriety, alongside her career at Arsenal in the Women’s Super League. 

Alongside her appearances on the pitch, Leah Williamson also has brand deals with Nike and Gucci, which will no doubt have added to her fame. Williamson has been balancing the responsibility of being the Lionesses’ Captain with training to become an accountant.

In second position is Lucy Bronze. With a follower count of 368,890, Bronze’s earning potential is £1,377 per Instagram post. The defender is due to join Barcelona for the 2022/23 season but has previously played for big name clubs such as Everton, Liverpool, and Manchester City. 

Similarly to her team mate, Bronze also works with big name brands, including Pepsi. 

With an earning potential of £1,246, Fran Kirby rounds off the top three. Kirby’s Instagram following currently stands at 330,351 and she works with both Nike and Visa off the pitch. 

Following in 4th and 5th position are Alex Greenwood and Rachel Daly with earning potentials of £1,230 and £941 per post respectively.

The study also looked to discover which Lionesses have seen the biggest boost to their Instagram followers since the tournament began. It was revealed that Chloe Kelly, who scored the winning goal to make England the Euro champions, takes the crown – amassing a huge 160,073 new followers in the last 30 days. That’s a 5072% increase on her following prior to the tournament.  

In second place is Alessia Russowho has amassed an extra 65,763 followers over the course of the tournament. Russo, who plays for Manchester United, has become a big talking point this tournament after her goal against Sweden in the semi-finals left fans stunned. The English super sub is proving popular with viewers with her following growing to 244,448, a 37% increase across the tournament. 

 Taking the 3rd spot is Captain Leah Williamson, with 64,861 new followers in the last 30 days, a 16% increase. 

Finally, in 4th and 5th spot are Beth Mead and Ella Toone who have seen their following grow by 44,344 (30%) and 37,606 (17%) respectively.
