Mobile provider to sponsor The Sports Agents

Tesco Mobile has announced a new partnership with Global, the Media and Entertainment Group.

The phone company, from the supermarket chain, becomes the headline sponsor of Global’s brand new podcast The Sports Agents, hosted by two of the UK’s most respected and popular sports broadcasters Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman.

Following the huge success of Global’s chart-topping and multi-award-winning podcast, The News Agents, The Sports Agents launched in February this year and is now available every Tuesday and Thursday on Global Player. So far, the podcast has had over a million downloads.

The six-month podcast sponsorship will help amplify Tesco Mobile’s new brand platform, ‘It Pays to be Connected,’ with a light-hearted and uniquely British look at the various community groups many of us inadvertently find ourselves in.

The campaign touches on the humorous, and all-too-relatable conversations that go on within these groups, showcasing the importance of good network connection in keeping people together.

To bring the campaign to life, The Sports Agents hosts Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman will tell funny anecdotes about the many group chats they’ve been added to, agreeing that ultimately, sport wouldn’t be the same without them.

Rachel Swift, Chief Customer Officer at Tesco Mobile:

“We’re delighted to launch this partnership with Global as part of their incredible podcast The Sports Agents. Gabby and Mark are the perfect pair to help us bring this new campaign to life and showcase Tesco Mobile’s vital role in helping people stay connected to their communities. With no EU roaming fees for the rest of the year, frozen contracts with Clubcard Prices, and 99% UK network coverage, sports fans can be confident they won’t miss a beat of this year’s incredible action on Tesco Mobile. We’re looking forward to working closely with Global on this campaign.”

Tesco Mobile will sponsor The Sports Agents this summer, with support from Tesco Mobile’s media agency, EssenceMediacom.
