Sol Heras, who plays Ryan Connor, is to leave Coronation Street at the end of Summer.
Daily Star Sunday reports that the 25-year-old actor is leaving at the end of his current contract which is due to expire. Heras joined the soap last year replacing previous actor Ben Thompson who portrayed Ryan from 2006 until 2010.
Prior to joining the street, Heras had appeared in Hollyoaks Later and Rock Rivals. The Sunday tabloid claims that Ryan will leave the cobbles after being offered a job as a DJ in Ibiza.
Ryan got together with Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote) earlier this year after they developed feelings for each other while working in Dev’s Kebab shop.
Speaking to the Daily Star, he says that he has received some abuse from fans for breaking up Katy and Chesney’s (Sam Aston) relationship. “I get a lot of people shouting at me asking why I’m so mean to Chesney.”
He added that he would miss Kym Lomas, who plays his on-screen mum Michelle Connor.
