It may have started off slow but Devious Maids soon became a hit for Lifetime so its hardly surprising the series has been given a second run. Lifetime has ordered a second 13-part series which will likely air next year. According to the press release Devious Maids has averaged over 20 million viewers this summer.
The drama – from Desperate Housewives‘ Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria – was originally developed for ABC. However, the broadcaster passed on ordering a full series so Lifetime stepped in and picked it up. Devious Maids stars Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes along with Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Mariana Klaveno and All My Children’s Susan Lucci.
