holby-city_2010Guy Henry is bowing out of Holby City after three years.

The Sunday People reports that the actor, who plays medical boss Henrik Hanssen, has decided to leave the series.

“I’ve had a wonderful time playing Henrik Hanssen – he’s such a weird man, but fun to play. The Holby City cast and crew have been delightful to work with” – Guy Henry

It’s unclear when Henrik will make his final on-screen appearance in the medical saga. The actor joined the cast in 2010 and has also played the character in several episodes of parent series Casualty. Prior to his role in Holby, he had parts in Lewis, Poirot, Murderland, Criminal Justice and Lost in Austen.

Henry is not the only actor leaving Holby City; as previously reported actress Tina Hobley is departing after 12 years of playing Chrissie Williams. Meanwhile former Holby City actress Amanda Mealing will reprise her role of Connie Beauchamp in Casualty from next year.

Mealing is not the first actor to transition over to Casualty; Michael French played Nick Jordan in the A&E drama following earlier stints in Holby in the role.
