BBC’s Moving On, by Jimmy McGovern, will become the first drama series to premiere on iPlayer.
The critically acclaimed daytime drama will be back for its fifth series which will air first in its entirety on the iPlayer service. Moving On, created by award winning writer Jimmy McGovern, features five stand-alone films. The series will include two films directed by comedian Johnny Vegas and actor Robert Glenister.
Moving On features stories around contemporary social issues and how each main character deals with their issue. Damian Kavanagh, BBC daytime controller says: “Viewers will be able to enjoy gripping drama performed by a stellar cast and written by talented storytellers.”
Former EastEnders’ actresses Jo Joyner and Anita Dobson, Downton Abbey star Amy Nuttall and Coronation Street’s Natalie Gumede will all star in the new upcoming fifth series.

The decision to air Moving On first on iPlayer comes after the BBC Trust, the governing body of the corporation, approved a trial of online premiering. Bad Education, BBC Three comedy starring Jack Whitehall, had its second series premièred on iPlayer before hitting the small screen.
