The actress – real name Maureen Bass – is known to millions for her role as tough-talking wheeler dealer Mo Harris in the BBC One soap.
According to The Sun, Morse has already signed up to appear on the reality show for a fee of £60,000 which will help pay off some of her debts. In August it was announced that she had declared herself bankrupt.
Laila joined the cast of EastEnders in September 2000 but after eleven years as a regular character in Albert Square, bosses decided to make Mo a guest character last year – a move that has attracted criticism from loyal fans.
She was given her first acting break at the age of 52 in the gritty film Nil By Mouth which was written and directed by her brother Hollywood star Gary Oldman.
The actress released her autobiography Just A Mo earlier this year in which she discusses her financial difficulties and her son Gerry’s addiction to heroin.
Other personalities rumoured to be taking part this year include TOWIE‘s Joey Essex and Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell.
I’m a Celebrity returns to ITV on Sunday 17th November.
