Tamera Foster is the latest act to be voted off X Factor.
Tamera faced Luke Friend in tonight’s quarter final sing-off and the battle split the judges. Nicole Scherzinger saved her own act Tamera and Louis saved his own, Luke. Sharon Osbourne backed Luke and Gary opted to save Tamera, taking it to deadlock.
Tamera, who was booed last week after being saved, managed to remember all the words to We Found Love and The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face last night. The 16-year-old, as the judges remind us each week as they did with Nicholas, received hypnotherapy in the week to help remember the lyrics.
On Saturday’s show the five remaining acts performed two songs, one of which was chosen by the public in the first ever X Factor Jukebox vote.
Rough Copy sang Every Little Step / She’s Got That Vibe, but it was their second song of the evening which garnered the most praise from the judges and audience. The three-piece took on R Kelly’s classic I Believe I Can Fly, as voted for by the public earlier in the week.
17-year-old Nicholas McDonald appeared to struggle with his choice of the night, taking on Take That and Gary Barlow’s own Greatest Day. Sharon Osbourne was vocal about his lack of stage presence but maintained he still had a great voice.
The public voted for Luke Friend to sing Skinny Love, a song which Louis Walsh said he did not like. He gained praise from the judges when he took on Mumford and Son’s I Will Wait.
Favourite to win, Sam Bailey, had Nicole Scherzinger in tears as she belted out Emeli Sande’s epic Clown. Earlier she had performed Whitney’s How Will I Know, which seen her move around the stage and interact with the audience.
Last year’s X Factor winner James Arthur returned to the stage to perform as well as 2010 runner-up Rebecca Ferguson in tonight’s results show.
X Factor continues next weekend on ITV / STV / UTV
