An impressive 8.4 million viewers tuned into to The Voice UK on Saturday evening, easily beating Tom Daley’s Splash!
The BBC One singing competition returned for its third series Saturday with two new coaches – pop princess Kylie Minogue and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson. They joined Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am on a revamped Voice which has previously suffered from poor ratings.
BBC’s decision to move The Voice UK from spring to winter has paid-off with 8.4 million tuning in from 7.00pm on Saturday evening, peaking at over 10 million. Over on ITV, Tom Daley’s diving reality show Splash! was down to 3.7 million viewers.
Emma Willis and Marvin Humes replaced Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates as the presenting duo of The Voice UK.
The Voice UK continues next Saturday at 7.00pm on BBC One.
