Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis is to face a retrial in March.
Appearing at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, Travis was informed that he would face a retrial on a charge of an alleged indecent assault against a woman in the 1990s and another of an alleged sexual assault on a journalist in 2008.
The popular DJ was found not guilty earlier this month of 12 counts of indecent assault. The jury failed to reach verdicts on the two counts of indecent and sexual assault after deliberating for over 20 hours spread across several days.
Dave Lee Travis will appear back in court on 28th March with the retrial expecting to take two weeks. Speaking after the news, Travis said: “The nightmare is now going to go on.”
A prominent DJ on BBC Radio 1, he hosted the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in the late 1970s and several weekday shows during the 1980s and early 90s until his famous on-air resignation at changes to the radio station.
