Myfanwy Moore is re-joining the BBC as Controller of UK Comedy Production.
Moore re-joins the corporation from ITV where she has been responsible for scripted comedy across all ITV channels as Commissioning Editor of Comedy. She previously worked for the BBC as Editor of New Comedy between 1997 and 2005.
I have loved my time at ITV, but as any comedy geek knows, running BBC In-House Comedy – the birthplace of so many well-loved and enduring shows that have shaped popular culture – is an opportunity that is hard to turn down. And I am a geek. – Moore
Moore’s latest role at the BBC will see her lead the BBC In-House Comedy department, the most prolific comedy producer in the UK. Its formidable heritage, with such shows as The Office, Goodness Gracious Me and Absolutely Fabulous, has been carried forward to the present day with hits like Mrs Brown’s Boys, Miranda, The Thick Of It and Twenty Twelve.
She will also oversee BBC Radio comedy, whose output includes such iconic shows as The News Quiz, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Just A Minute and The Now Show.
