Channel 5 is to screen a rarely seen live performance from legendary comedy duo and official national treasures Morecambe and Wise.
As part of a night celebrating Britain’s greatest double acts Channel 5 has secured this live performance which previously has only been seen in brief clips on UKTV’s Gold. The film captures two of Britain’s most adored artists performing some of their best loved comedy sketches in front of a live audience at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon in 1973. With the backing of their orchestra, under the musical direction of Johnny Wiltshire, Eric & Ernie deliver and ad lib a torrent of gags and one-liners honed over many years on the live comedy circuit. Closing the show with their classic rendition of Bring Me Sunshine, this is a rare chance to see the iconic duo live on stage.
Eric & Ernie’s long time agent, Billy Marsh, arranged the recording of this live performance and this film has rarely been seen in its entirety.
