X Factor star Olly Murs turns 30 today.
The pop star lost out to Joe McElderry in the 2009 final of the talent behemoth. Despite coming runner up, Olly became the success story of that year and went on to have number one singles, hit albums and a successful tour. The cheeky chappy from Essex also went back to the X Factor to front ITV2 spin-off show Xtra Factor, where he struck up friendship with co-host Caroline Flack.
The official X Factor site wished Olly happy birthday while Syco Entertainment tweeted that they hope he has an ‘amazing day’. One Direction singer Niall Horan said: “Happy birthday to the nicest guy I know @ollyofficial ! Love you Murs! See ya soon man !” A range of celebrities have also sent him birthday wishes.
Olly Murs tweeted this morning thanking his fans for birthday wishes and said he’d celebrating his 30th with his friends in Europe.
