X Factor bosses are still undecided on who to choose to complete the line-up for this year’s series.
Daily Mirror reports that it’s a battle between Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, who Simon Cowell had in mind for the role a few years ago, and Spice Girl turned talent judge Mel B. Scary Spice has previously been a judge on X Factor Australia and can currently be found judging acts across the pond on America’s Got Talent.
Louis Walsh told the newspaper to “watch this space” as X Factor bosses get closer to securing the final line-up ahead of the auditions. Simon Cowell is returning as main judge after spending three years away trying to launch the unsuccessful X Factor USA. He will be joined by Cheryl Cole, who he famously fell out with over dropping her from the American version during the audition stages because of her accent.
The Irish judge, who is the only judge to have appeared on every series since the show began in 2004, did say that the last series, which was won by Sam Bailey, would be his last. It’s not the first time that the music manager has flirted with the idea of leaving before signing a new contract.
X Factor returns to ITV in August.
