Channel 5 has confirmed the date and time Big Brother will return for the summer series.
The live Big Brother launch, hosted by Emma Willis, will be on Thursday 5th June and Friday 6th June. The split live launch shows will both air at 9.00pm. The show is expected to be tougher than ever after it was revealed that the Power Trip theme will see housemates fighting for ultimate power in the house.
At 10.35pm, Big Brother’s Bit On The Side will be back to digest the initial thoughts of the new housemates and launch night twists. Bit On The Side will be hosted by Rylan Clark and feature former Celebrity Big Brother finalist Luisa Zissman as a panellist and reporter. To end the launch night coverage, a 30 minute live stream from the house follows at 11.35pm.
Coming hot on the heels of the most watched Celebrity Big Brother series in years, the civilian version will initiate Big Brother: Power Trip on launch night. The producers tease that the housemates this year will have to seize power, keep it and impose it on their fellow housemates. Viewers will also have the power to meddle with the housemates and manipulate them throughout the series.
The house has been given a complete redesign. Gone are the sumptuous furnishings and ornate decorations of the last Celebrity Big Brother House and in their place now feature stark open spaces and sleek, clean lines in a House that looks as though it has been transported from the future. Technology is at its heart.
Big Brother: Power Trip Launch Part 1 airs Thursday 5th June at 9.00pm on Channel 5.
