Nadia Comaneci will be joining fellow gymnast Louis Smith for new BBC One Saturday evening entertainment show, Tumble.
Nadia, who was the first gymnast ever to score a perfect 10 in an Olympic competition, will act as head judge. Star of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Louis Smith, will also sit on the panel alongside Craig Heap and Sebastian Stella.
“I know what it’s like to strive for that perfect 10! Your heart is pounding and your palms are sweaty, but when you step out onto that floor, or mount the bars or beam, you have to perform like your life depends on it.”
Ten celebrities will turn their hands to learning and performing a number of disciplines from the world of Gymnastics. These include tumbling, double trapeze, acrobatic gymnastics and trampolining. Tumble has the backing of British Gymnastics and The National Centre for Circus Arts.
Tumble will be hosted by The One Show co-host Alex Jones. The ten celebrities taking part will be announced in the coming weeks.
“I am thrilled to be hosting this exciting new show, which is sure to offer jaw-dropping stunts and a visual spectacle. No-one has told me yet whether I will be required to don a leotard or master the balance beams, but I am willing to give it a go.” – Alex Jones
