BBC Three is to air a factual film about Tulisa Contostavlos’s’ drugs sting and the resulting trial.
The one-off documentary, titled Tulisa: The Price of Fame, will follow the singer’s day-to-day life since The Sun on Sunday accused her of brokering a drugs deal for one of its undercover reporters.
Broadcast reports that the show will detail the immediate fall out of the June 2013 article headlined ‘Tulisa’s Cocaine Deal Shame’, and the subsequent legal proceedings, which came to a close yesterday with the trial’s collapse.
The trial at Southwark Crown Court collapsed due to “serious misconduct” on behalf of the investigative journalist responsible for the sting, Mazher Mahmood.
ITV Studios’ factual arm Shiver are behind the documentary which is expected to transmit on BBC Three next Monday at 10.00pm. Tulisa has previously fronted a documentary for BBC Three which depicted her caring for her mentally ill mother.
