Frankie Bridge, StrictlyFrankie Bridge has become the first celebrity confirmed for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The Saturdays star confirmed her participation while appearing on BBC Breakfast this morning with her band mates.

“I’m such a huge fan of Strictly! I’ve always wanted to be a part of the show – it looks like so much fun and the costumes are just gorgeous.


“Like so many little girls, I used to take dance lessons when I was in primary school and I really love dancing but this is going to be so different from anything I have done with The Saturdays. I just can’t wait to get started!” – Bridge

The singer, who is married to footballer Wayne Bridge, first shot to fame at the age of 12 with the young pop group S Club Juniors who amassed six top-ten singles.

She went on to achieve further success with The Saturdays from 2007 onwards, notching up four top-ten albums and thirteen top-ten singles.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this autumn and will see Frankie take on fourteen other celebrities for the coveted glitterball trophy.
