Sky 1 is to launch a new family entertainment show called Wild Things which will features couples undertaking a range of challenges on a gigantic woodland obstacle course.
The six part series is set to air in 2015. The hour long editions are set in a forest which contains a woodland obstacle course and a series of challenges that couples (either partners or contestants related by family) must overcome in order to get the chance to walk away with a fortune in gold coins buried deep within the Wild Wood.
“Wild Things is like nothing we’ve seen before – a surreal and side splittingly funny concoction of giant woodland creatures, bickering couples and pots of gold. It’s a big, daft slice of genius.” – Adam MacDonald, Director of Sky 1
To begin one member of each team is nominated as the Wild Thing, which means they must wear a woodland protection suit designed to look like a cute woodland animal. Unfortunately this means that not only do they look ridiculous but also that they cannot see a thing, so they will need their partner to guide them to safety and victory.
“We loved the idea as soon as we heard about it. It’s exactly the type of entertainment commission that we embrace on Sky 1 – fun for the family, vibrant and completely unique..” – Chris Brogden, Commissioning Editor, Sky Entertainment
The title of the production may change before going to air with Wild Things set as a ‘working title’ only. The series has begun production.
