Strictly Come Dancing: Celebrities meet their pro partners

Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing returned to our screens this evening for its annual premiere show, in which viewers were introduced to this year’s celebrity participants and found out who they would be dancing with.

Presiding over the pre-recorded show, which acts as a precursor to the live shows, were Tess Daly and new permanent co-host Claudia Winkleman.

Sir Bruce Forsyth, who relinquished his role of co-host earlier this year, made a special appearance during the premiere to hand the presenting baton to Tess and Claudia, following a spectacular opening dance sequence.

There was also a special guest appearance from last year’s champion, Abbey Clancy and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec, as they reunited for the very last time to perform their Waltz to ‘Kissing You’, while Smokey Robinson, Imelda May and 5 Seconds of Summer were the musical guests during the show.

The celebrities now have three weeks to train with their new partners before returning to the Strictly ballroom to perform live to the nation for the very first time.

The pairings are as follows:

Pixie Lott and Trent Whiddon

Jennifer Gibney and Tristan McManus

Judy Murray and Anton Du Beke

Alison Hammond and Aljaz Skorjanec

Sunetra Sarker and Brendan Cole

Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev

Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton

Steve Backshall and Ola Jordan

Gregg Wallace and Aliona Vilani

Scott Mills and Joanne Clifton

Tim Wonnacott and Natalie Lowe

Mark Wright and Karen Hauer

Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff

Thom Evans and Iveta Lukosiute

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of September.
