Fox has picked up its critically acclaimed new drama Gotham for a full season.
TVLine reports the comic book drama has been picked up for a full 22-episode season by Fox after the network ordered an additional six episodes of the series.
The drama was one of the most anticipated new shows of the fall season and is one of several comic-book related dramas to premier. Other comic related shows to debut this season include The Flash and Constantine while Arrow and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D both return for new runs.
Gotham charts the early days of Detective James Cordon (Ben McKenzie) time in the Gotham Police Force and also features a young Bruce Wayne; following the brutal murder of his parents.
The series, which acts as an origin story of sorts, will feature iconic Batman villains such as the Penguin and Catwoman. Gotham stars Sean Pertwee, Jada Pinkett Smith and Donal Logue.
In the UK Gotham premiers tonight on Channel 5 at 9pm.
