Filming Starts On New Real Housewives of New York

Filming has reportedly started on the seventh season of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City.

While there is still uncertainty over who will be in the seventh series of the reality show – and rumours continue to circulate – filming has reportedly begun.

Cast member Carole Radziwill has teased fans on Twitter that filming has just begun. Fellow cast member Sonja Morgan has also stated filming has begun after she showed up for a cabaret show at Cafe Carlyle and told Page Six that she was there for The Real Housewives of New York City.

The sixth season of the veteran reality show aired earlier this year on Bravo but struggled in the ratings. For a while it looked as though the series faced cancellation but Bravo is reportedly hoping another cast shake up will spice up the ratings.

Aviva Drescher, who joined the cast along with Heather Thomson & Carole Radziwill at the start of the fifth season, has reportedly been axed. Drescher was a controversial cast member; in the fifth season she had a feud with Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer and in the sixth season she fell out with Thomson and Radziwill.

Reports also claim that original cast member Ramona Singer will be demoted to recurring status as LuAnn de Lesseps was for the sixth season. It has been consistently reported, but not confirmed, that Bravo are hoping to tempt back former series stars Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin.

Frankel bailed out of The Real Housewives of New York City at the end of its third season to work on other television projects. Frankel’s best friend turned enemy Jill Zarin was controversially sacked after the end of the fourth season along with Alex McCord and Kelly Killoren Bensimon. Several reports have claimed that Frankel has been offered $1 million to return to the series while others claim that she has refused to return if Zarin returns as well.

Fans of Jill Zarin have long since campaigned for her return to the show.
