Bravo has confirmed what many suspected already; Bethenny Frankel is set to return to The Real Housewives of New York for its seventh season.
For several weeks now rumours have circulated that Bravo were hoping to tempt Frankel back to the franchise that made her famous. Various reports claimed the reality television personality had been offered $1 million to return while others claimed she was refusing to return if her friend turned enemy Jill Zarin was also brought back.
Frankel bowed out of The Real Housewives of New York at the end of its third season to focus on other projects including her short-lived chat-show. By the time Frankel bowed out of the series she had feuds with several of her co-stars including most famously Kelly Bensimon and Jill Zarin.
Bravo have confirmed the line-up for the seventh season with Frankel appearing alongside returning cast members Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Kristen Taekman, LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan. Reports had previously stated that Ramona Singer would be demoted to recurring status during the new season but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
There’s no news on whether Jill Zarin will return to the franchise but one housewife who won’t be back is Aviva Drescher. The housewife was fired by Bravo at the end of its sixth season following high profile clashes with cast members Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan.
Bravo will be hoping that the return of Bethenny Frankel will propel The Real Housewives of New York back to ratings glory. Despite Drescher’s big clashes with fellow housewives the series has suffered from a drop in ratings. Bravo will be pinning their hopes that the return of Frankel will bring back viewers and the kind of housewife drama they prefer to see.
Is it only a matter of time now before Jill Zarin returns?
