ITV has confirmed Olly Murs and Caroline Flack as the new hosts of The X Factor marking the first time the popular talent show has been co-presided over.
“I’m beyond excited about presenting The X Factor with Olly. To have the privilege of doing this with someone who makes me laugh out loud is a massive bonus!” – Caroline Flack
The pair, who previously oversaw The Xtra Factor for ITV2, are replacing Dermot O’Leary who announced his departure from the show last month, having succeeded original host Kate Thornton in 2007. Olly and Caroline will be on hand throughout the initial stages to react accordingly to auditionees and will also be tasked with maintaining order between the judges once the live shows are underway.
“I’m incredibly excited and proud to be returning to The X Factor alongside Caroline. I love the show and it kick-started my career in music which has given me the opportunity to do what I love. I already have the best job in the world and it’s about to get better – I can’t wait to get started and be part of finding some amazing new talent!” – Olly Murs
