Fans of the E4 series The Inbetweeners are hoping a petition may persuade the broadcaster to return once more to the eventful lives of Will, Simon, Jay and Neil.

The campaign for a final episode – with some fans hoping for an entire series – gained over 10,000 signatures within the first two days of the change.org signature page going live.

“We would like to see what happened after the second film when they got back from Australia, what was to the follow up to Mr. Gilbert and Will’s mother. Maybe a school reunioThe Inbetweenersn event where they could get revenge on Donovan? Maybe Simon actually gets who he wanted all along Carly?…” – campaign leader Lee Brady

The Inbetweeners originally aired on E4 from 2008 to 2010 with eighteen episodes produced over three series. Created and written by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, the show followed the life of middle class suburban teenager Will McKenzie (Simon Bird) and his three friends at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive. The episodes involved situations of school bullying, broken family life, indifferent school staff, male bonding, and largely failed sexual encounters. Further adventures followed with two film spin-offs in The Inbetweeners Movie and The Inbetweeners 2.

“I do believe the lads are just about still young enough to get away with one last special episode, hence a school reunion event would be appropriate. We know that they have said the series had run it’s course and there will not be another movie, so hopefully we can squeeze out a special episode instead. James Buckley who plays Jay already thinks it would be fun!” – Lee Brady

For Red Nose Day 2011, the stars of the show travelled around the UK in the yellow Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii featured in the show in a special named The Inbetweeners: Rude Road Trip. The aim was to try to find the 50 rudest place names in the country. In 2010 The Mirror newspaper claimed that pop star Justin Bieber wanted a part in the series.
