Former EastEnders star Sam Strike will play a guest role in the nineteenth series of Silent Witness.
The actor will portray David Hamilton in the long-running BBC drama starring alongside Emilia Fox who plays Nikki Alexander. David held his family together while his father was in prison, and has sacrificed a place at university to support his parents following a family tragedy.
Dean Andrews and Geraldine Somerville star as David’s parents.
“I’m a fan of Silent Witness, so when the opportunity arose to be a part of it, I jumped at the chance. I really admire David Drury as a director, so to work with him is very exciting. It’s always great to play a character outside of your comfort zone, especially on a platform as successful as Silent Witness.” – Strike
Strike rose to fame in 2013 after joining EastEnders as Johnny Carter who, in a memorable and acclaimed scene, came out to his father Mick (Danny Dyer). Sam decided to quit the soap late last year to pursue new opportunities.
The 19th series of Silent Witness will air on BBC One early next year.
