Running from July 3rd to July 5th the event takes place in what they proudly describe as their ‘award winning gardens and great Elizabethan Hall.’ This year the festival expects to be bigger and better than ever and tickets are selling faster than in all previous years. The 2015 event will be celebrating the centenary of Billie Holiday’s birth with the critically acclaimed ‘Lady Sings the Blues’ tribute featuring Val Wiseman. Then the wonderful rising star and receiver of four nominations and winner of Best Female Vocalist at the latest British Blues Awards, Jo Harman and Company will headline the main stage Saturday evenings entertainment. Ben Beattie’s After Midnight Band plus festival organiser and Hall owner Simon Cunliffe-Lister will bring, what promises to be such a wonderful weekend, to a close on Sunday but not after one of the classiest Jazz and Swing musicians in the UK Nicola Farnon, festival favourites Rob Law Quintet and the 7 piece powerhouse that is New York Brass Band, have all given their stellar performances.
Saxophonist Ben and his musicians will take the audience on an exciting musical journey from the barrelhouses in the Delta, stepping into the smoky jazz and blues clubs of the 40s and 50s in Chicago, New York and Paris, up to the music halls and pioneering record studios. In addition to the main stage line up, the festival office will shortly announce acts who will perform at the late night sessions, the performances within their courtyard, and the artists who will grace the Elizabethan Great Hall.
