Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom have been announced as the new presenters of the Xtra Factor.
The pair will replace Sarah-Jane Crawford who exits the ITV2 show after just one series. Rochelle, the Saturdays singer turned presenter will be joined by KISS FM DJ Melvin Odoom on the refreshed companion show. Their appointment comes just days after ITV confirmed the new line-up for the main show.
“I have watched The Xtra Factor for years so I am beyond excited about joining such a brilliant team and getting to work with my old friend Melvin makes it even better.” – Rochelle Humes
Sitting alongside returning judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will be Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and pop star Rita Ora, who has defected from BBC rival The Voice UK. Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, who previously presented Xtra Factor, will take over from long time host Dermot O’Leary. The big changes follow a decline year-on-year in the ratings and a move to attract a younger audience.
“I’ve always been a massive fan of the show and to get to present The Xtra Factor is a dream for me. We are there to support the contestants and have fun – I’m really looking forward to it!” – Melvin Odoom
The X Factor and its spin-off format will return to ITV and ITV 2 later this year.
