ITV’s This Morning has served lunch to its presenters 100 feet in the air.
The magazine show’s Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby had their lunch today at almost one hundred feet in the air! The hosts walked to the local SkyKitchen – a unique new restaurant experience – along London’s Southbank where a Michelin starred chef, Tom Aikens, cooked a dish to reflect the 60th anniversary of the fish finger.
After being strapped safely in their chairs and being lifted high up in the air, Holly could not hide her nerves. Looking worried, she said, “Oh, we’re moving!.. It’s a little bit windy up here.” Whilst Phillip said, “It’s a little bit like being on the sea, it feels like you’re on a boat!”
Holly – who didn’t enjoy looking down – admitted how she has become scared of things the older she has got. She said, “As I’m getting older I’m turning into a wuss about everything, it’s started to make me feel urgh… I’m not sure I want to eat up here.” Before daredevil Phillip – who once climbed to the top of the Shard building – tried to scare his co-host more by twisting their chairs.
As Holly spoke about the dish ingredients, Phillip laughed, “You’re just saying stuff to keep your mind off it now… you’re just randomly talking!” Holly said, “I can’t move, I don’t know what else to do! It’s so weird because until you look down you forget you’re up here… I just don’t like the swaying thing.”
Phillip later admitted, “If I’m honest, it’s not much of a view is it?” But chef Tom said, “It can go higher, but it’s a little bit windy today… it’s for our safety.” Much to the relief of Holly.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV, UTV and STV
