Duncan Bannatyne has become the sixth celebrity to leave I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. The former Dragon’s Den personality left the jungle in tonight’s episode (3 December) after losing out in the latest public vote.
“It feels good to be out but it was also good to be in with those six people that were left, ” he told Ant & Dec. “It was sort of what I expected but I did think I’d have been out a week ago.”
“It was very flattering. I didn’t expect that,” an amused Duncan said of his status as the jungle heartthrob before going on to address the more serious matter of the arguments between himself, Tony Hadley and Lady C.
“Some would say she’s not a Lady,” he noted. “Over a little thing she would start shouting and calling us names. I just tried to ignore her but Tony would go back and back and back and it would go on forever. She’s very very personal.”
However, Duncan conceded that some of the conflict could’ve been avoided if Tony had not refused to be Lady C, Kieron and Chris’s bell boy whilst they were staying at the jungle’s boutique hotel.
“Now looking back, maybe we should’ve done it. But Tony didn’t want to do it. If I’d have been in Tony’s position, maybe I would’ve done it,” he said, but added that Lady C shouldn’t have taken it personally.
“I think my life is better not having her in it so I won’t see her again, no,” – Duncan on whether he’ll see Lady C again
Duncan said he would like ‘any one of the six’ that remain to win. After being pushed to pick one he opted for Geordie reality star Vicky Pattison, noting “she has a bad reputation in the media but she’s a fantastic girl.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9.00pm on ITV
