STV Productions, the production arm of ITV Scotland broadcaster STV, has appointed Peter Collins as Executive Producer, Factual, to further strengthen its successful multi-genre team.

The announcement follows STV Productions’ appointment of Dan Korn as creative director earlier this year, with focus on specialist factual and popular factual series and specials.
Collins joins STV Productions from Oxford Scientific Films, where he worked as Head of Development, securing a broad range of factual commissions for BBC1 and 2, ITV, C4, Sky1 and Nat Geo Wild. His development credits include Animal Odd Couples, Wild Weather with Richard Hammond and the highly successful Secret life of…strand. Whilst at OSF he also produced the ITV Christmas Day special The Queen’s Garden.
Prior to this he worked across both production and development for a variety of indies and BBC Science, building an impressive portfolio in the factual and natural history genre with credits including Earth: A New Wild for PBS and Beautiful Minds for BBC4.
Peter Collins will be based at STV Productions’ office in London and report into creative director Dan Korn. He will take up his new role on 4th January 2016.

STV is the only ITV broadcaster outside of ITVplc ownership who operate all the regional operations of Independent Television across England, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and Wales. STV provide the ITV service for two regions in Scotland; STV North and STV Central. The company also broadcast two Local TV ‘City Stations’; STV Edinburgh and STV Glasgow.
