I'm a Celebrity

Vicky Pattison was crowned ‘Queen of The Jungle’ in tonight’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! final.

The Geordie reality star champion saw off competition from singer George Shelley to take the title, after Ferne McCann finished in third place earlier in the show.

Before the result was announced both finalists were interviewed by Ant & Dec.

“I thought it was going to be an adventure but it was gruelling,” George told the duo, “It was an amazing experience. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it but it was so much fun and I’ve met some amazing people.”

On taking part in the trials and challenges he said “I loved them… the toughest one was the meat balls (from the Saturday Fright at the Movies trial) because the stars were hidden inside testicles and it was gross.

“It’s good to win stars because everyone’s so hungry. You’re just starving and to have like the tiniest of things like a bit of herb to put in with the beans, it just makes all the difference.”

“I can’t believe I cried on TV, that’s so embarrassing,” George exclaimed after being shown a clip of his emotions getting the better of him in the jungle. “It was living in a confined space with so many people… I really struggle with not eating properly and I’ve missed my family.”

“We’re definitely going to stay friends and we’ve got some nights out planned. You’re in the jungle… you don’t know until you spend some time outside. I love her to bits – she’s a gorgeous girl.” George on his ‘flanter’ with Ferne

Asked what it would mean to win he said “It’s just unreal to even be here… I would never have imagined it. I think my mum would be so proud and to see that would be the best feeling.”

Meanwhile, Vicky said of her time in the jungle “Every single second has been a dream come true. I thought I would hate it and I have struggled on rare occasions, but the rest of the time I have loved it and embraced it all.”

“I just got in the zone and all that was in my head was coming back with a full house of stars for the camp. The hunger… you’ve known nothing like it,” noted Vicky of her determination to see through trials.

Asked if it was difficult to enter the camp after everyone else with Ferne she said “Oh my god, honestly! New girl in class doesn’t even come close. There was nowhere for us to sleep.” She added of her friendship with Ferne “I thought we were going to be similar and that we were going to clash, but we complimented each other and she’s so nice.”

“I would like to think so. I bet everyone thought I was going to go in and be kicking off with everyone, but that’s not me. It is a side of my personality but I hope everyone’s seen the real me.” – Vicky on showing another side to herself

On the possibility of winning the show she said “It would mean the world to me…. I’ve wanted it since I realised there was a chance. If I had to lose to George, I would take that on the chin because he’s an amazing person.”

After hearing the result Vicky took her place on the jungle throne and was handed her crown by last year’s King of the Jungle Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty. Runner-up George said “I’m so proud of her… what an experience!”

“It doesn’t sound right… I think you’ve made a mistake,” Vicky said of her victory “I can’t thank everyone who voted for me enough. I don’t even think I deserve it! Thank you so much… I love you all.”

“I’m probably going to have to pay for my mam and everyone else’s phone bills when this is over,” joked Vicky
