ITV’s sunny comedy Benidorm has been confirmed for a ninth series by the broadcaster.
The series, set around the lives of regular holiday makers and staff at the Solana all-inclusive hotel in Spain goes into production this month for a brand new ninth outing.

Many of the favourite holidaymakers will be appearing throughout the new episodes with the ever-resourceful Solana staff that includes Joyce Temple Savage played by former Coronation Street and Crossroads actress Sherrie Hewson, Les/Lesley brought to larger than life by Auf Wiedersehen Pet and Heartburn Hotel actor Tim Healy and Mateo played by Jake Canuso who has also featured in programmes such as Shameless, Doctors and Bad Education, all who are all back to ensure everyone’s holiday goes to plan.
Details of new and returning characters, guest stars and storylines will be announced nearer transmission ITV say, currently the eighth series has so far averaged 5.8 million viewers across the run of the first five editions with a 21% audience share.
