Rylan Clark - Up Late With Rylan Channel 5

Former X Factor contestant Rylan Clark-Neal has confirmed he will co-host ITV2 spin-off show Xtra Factor with Matt Edmondson this year.

Matt and Rylan replace Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom who hosted the sister show to the main singing contest last series. Matt’s appointment was announced earlier this week whilst Rylan initially shared his involvement with viewers of ITV’s This Morning earlier today (1 July).

“After four years of doing my thing it’s finally time for me to go back to where it all began but this time as a HOST of Xtra! I’m thrilled to be part of The X Factor once again and even more excited at the thought of knowing I won’t be in the bottom two each week!

“I can’t wait to get working with Matt and finally find our niche as the odd looking Ant and Dec.  I’m so excited to work alongside the judges and Dermot and over the moon to be sharing the coming months with my Nicole as a fully-fledged Scherzy boy once more. Watch out Simon … I’m back!” – Rylan

Rylan made it through to week 8 on the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012, mentored by Nicole Scherzinger. The rising star went on to win Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, and has since joined the This Morning presenting team for ITV daytime. He’s also continued to work for Channel 5 as the presenter of Big Brother spin-off series Bit On The Side and his own late night chat show, Up Late with Rylan.

This year, the Xtra Factor will be live throughout the series, giving fans the chance to give their feedback straight after the main episode has aired on ITV. Matt Edmondson is currently filming for the Xtra Factor.

The X Factor and Xtra Factor return in August.
