Welsh Comedian Rhod Gilbert is to take over presenting duties on BBC Two’s You’re Fired and You’re Hired – the companion shows to The Apprentice.

Would I Lie To You? - Rhod Gilbert

“As a massive fan of The Apprentice, I can’t wait to start hosting You’re Fired. As someone who has been fired from 24 jobs in six series of my BBC work experience show, I feel I have what it takes to empathise with the candidates who’ve been so cruelly rejected, and provide a shoulder for them to cry on.” – Rhod Gilbert

Rhod will appear each week alongside a variety of business experts and celebrities to discuss the outgoing candidates’ performance. As with previous series You’re Fired will air immediately after The Apprentice on BBC Two.

Rhod joined BBC Two′s iconic pop quiz Never Mind The Buzzcocks in 2014 and has also worked on various other TV projects including Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience, Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You?, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You? (pictured)

“It’s great news that Rhod will be joining as the host of You’re Fired on BBC Two. A natural and accomplished presenter as well as a brilliant comic, he’s perfect for the role and I’m very excited to hear his unique take on the highlights of The Apprentice each week!” – Kate Phillips, Controller Entertainment Commissioning, BBC

Eleven episodes of the half hour You’re Fired have been commissioned with the one hour long episode of You’re Hired to run alongside BBC One’s The Apprentice.
