If you needed another sign that Christmas is not far away, then the return of The Apprentice is just that. The twelfth series of the reality television series returns to BBC One next week and is set to be the biggest and best to date.
Lord Sugar is once again searching for a business partner. Since the alteration in format the businessman has ploughed £1.25m into five businesses, and a new batch of contestants will be hoping their business idea is enough to make Lord Sugar invest in them.
The winning candidate will get a £250,000 investment however the competition this year is said to be the toughest yet. A total of 18 will do battle meaning at various points Lord Sugar will take no prisoners potentially firing more than one contestant.
“I need to see who’s got a good business brain, that’s all I’m interested in. The winner gets a £250,000 investment and it will change someone’s life forever.” – Lord Sugar
Joining Lord Sugar on his hunt for his next business partner are Karren Brady and Claude Littner. They will once again be his eyes and ears as the contestants head out on their weekly tasks.
The first task of the series sees the contestants arrive at a lock-up housing various items ranging from antique furniture to vintage toys, they’ll be tested on their negotiating and selling skills from then on.
The team that makes the most money wins, meaning in the losing team at least one will become the first to be fired.
“You see 18 people here, and we’re here for 12 weeks – that tells you there are going to be occasions where more than one person is going (to be fired). And I don’t care how many it can be.” – Lord Sugar
