EastEnders actress Tameka Empson has become the second celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing.
Tameka and her partner Gorka Marquez found themselves in the dance off alongside TV presenter Laura Whitmore and Giovanni Pernice in tonight’s results programme.
Looking to impress the judging panel and secure their place in the competition, each couple performed their routine from Saturday’s (8 October) movie-themed show again with Tameka and Gorka performing their Tango to The Heat Is On from Beverley Hills Cop and Laura and Giovanni doing their Salsa to Rhythm of The Night by Valeria Andrews from the movie Moulin Rouge.
After both couples had danced for survival the judges delivered their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli choosing to save Laura and Giovanni. Darcey Bussell voted for Tameka and Gorka to retain their place in the competition, leaving the casting vote with head judge Len Goodman who opted to keep Laura and Giovanni.
“I have enjoyed my time immensely I really have. The costume, the hair, everybody. There are just so many people. Every department shows a lot of love and you guys watch it at home but it’s really lovely to be a part of it and I’m grateful so thank you.” – Tameka Empson
Tonight’s results show also featured a performance from Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, who performed ‘Somewhere’ from the movie West Side Story.
Strictly Come Dancing returns next Saturday, 15th October at 6.30pm, with the results show on Sunday 16th October at 7.15pm on BBC One.
