UKTV is to open its Haunted Hotel to well known names including Jamelia, John Thomson, Antony Cotton, Richard Arnold, Sally Lindsay, Matt Johnson and Vogue Williams.
“We are excited to be broadening the shows on W even further with a live, nightly entertainment event for Halloween. Set in Britain’s spookiest village, Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live combines interactive challenges with a ghostly setting. I can’t wait to see how brave our celebrities really are.” – Steve North, W’s general manager
The first batch of brave personalities are preparing to check-in to Britain’s spookiest hotel in Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live. The show airs from Thursday night at 9pm on UKTV channel ‘W’. Cold Feet star John Thomson with friend and comedian Justin Moorhouse will be joined by singer songwriter and presenter Jamelia, and Olympic gold medalists Jack Laugher and Will Satch.
Amongst those checking-in live over the five nights leading up to and including Halloween, from the worlds of music, sport and showbiz, include GMTV, Daybreak and Good Morning Britain showbiz darling and journalist Richard Arnold; Coronations Street’s Antony Cotton with professional rugby league player Keegan Hirst; presenter and fitness expert Chloe Madeley with rugby union player and boyfriend James Haskell; actress Sally Lindsay with fellow actress and writer Emma Kennedy; TV host Matt Johnson with model and TV presenter Vogue Williams.
Presenter Christine Lampard with co-hosts Matt Richardson and Jamie East, will be checking in the new pairs of hotel guests nightly, where those brave enough to stay in the ghost-ridden lodgings will be under the control of viewers. The celebrity residents will be voted to take part in nail-biting and riotous live investigations, experiments and group events while exploring each episode’s gruesome ghost story theme.
Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live launches on Thursday 27th October at 9pm for five nights until the grand finale on Halloween – 31st October. The remaining guests will be announced over W’s socials channels across the next few days.
Matt Richardson will also host companion show Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live: Do Not Disturb, at 6pm nightly from Friday 28th October, giving viewers a chance to catch-up on the previous night’s eerie occurrences and challenges and set the scene for the evening show.
“This is a spooky addition to W’s growing slate of original content – an entertainment event set in the darkest of places; perfect for Halloween. With a whole host of celebrities to frighten, W viewers will be gripped by the unfolding nightly action.” – UKTV executive producer, Helen Nightingale
