Today’s This Morning team decided to play a few tricks and delivered plenty of treats for viewers earlier with a special Halloween look.

This Morning Halloween

“Can I just say well done to our hair and makeup department who put all this together – just phenomenal!” – Holly Willoughby

The long running ITV show opened with a revamped title sequence and a haunted looking studio – complete with a coffin coffee table and giant spider webs covering the sofa and exterior of the Studio 8 South Bank building!

During the ‘spooky’ themed show, Phillip and Holly spotted Rylan Clark-Neal stepping out of a Sarcophagus tomb dressed as Antony and decided they wanted to get dressed up too… leaving Rylan and Alison Hammond – who was dressed as Cleopatra – to continue hosting the show whilst they get ready!

Rylan and Alison continued by speaking to Sam Rubin in LA to see how the USA do Halloween, and showed Yvette Fielding having a sleepover with some of the This Morning crew at Britain’s Most Haunted Prison – despite previously claiming she’d never return…

Viewers also got see more of the This Morning family dressed for the occasion with gadget expert Steve Wilson dressed as Uncle Fester, Dr Zoe as a Cheerleader and Dr Ranj as a Mummy covered in bandages, whilst consumer expert Alice Beer dressed as Catwoman, before Phillip and Holly finally returned as Beetlejuice and Lydia from the 1988 Tim Burton movie.

Looking at Phillip, Holly said, “I’m slightly more frightened by the fact this character has overtaken you! What have you done with Phillip Schofield…? How are we going to focus on the show now?”
Phillip said, “Remember, don’t say the B-word!…” Before adding, “How am I going to take a selfie – look at my nails!”

The freaky duo continued hosting the show speaking with viewers about their ghostly experiences, witnessed Nik and Eva Speakman help a mother who was terrified of Halloween, took part in a ‘Snacking Spiders’ challenge, sampled chef Phil Vickery’s ‘Brain’ cake…. and delivered a shock for Rylan during his showbiz item as a payback for frightening Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor! Rylan – who only just stopped himself swearing – said, “That could have been the end! …I scared Nicole and I’ve just been repaid, she’ll be very happy about that!”
