To be shown on BBC One over an eight week period, Let It Shine will be putting talented individuals through their paces, to create a band who will join the cast of a brand new stage show featuring the music of Take That.
Lulu will join permanent judges Gary Barlow, Martin Kemp and Dannii Minogue for the competition’s second stage which will entail the boys performing in groups for the very first time.
Lulu, who collaborated with Gary on Take That hit Relight My Fire in 1993, will give her expert opinion as she assists in whittling down the groups to five final bands who will proceed to compete in the live shows.
“I have always loved working and sharing in the success story that is Take That. So the chance to bring my experience and knowledge of west end musicals, to help cast for a new show, feels a privilege and I am thrilled to do it.” – Lulu
Musical theatre star Amber Riley was previously announced as a temporary judge for the first round of the competition. More information will be released by the beeb about the live shows at a later date.
Let It Shine is a BBC Studios Entertainment Production and will be hosted by Graham Norton and Mel Giedroyc.
