Daisy Lowe is the eighth celebrity to depart the dance floor in Strictly Come Dancing 2016.
“I’ve loved every minute, everyone here is so unbelievable you have no idea! The make-up, costume, production, cameras, everyone, the judges, thank you so much for everything I’ve loved every moment. Hang on, I’ve missed one, my hero (to Aljaž), thank you for everything!” – Daisy Lowe
This weekend, Daisy Lowe became the eighth contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing as she faced Greg Rutherford in the dreaded dance off.
The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ vote to decide the two lowest scoring couples to face each other in the dance off. This week, that was Greg Rutherford and his professional partner Natalie Lowe and Daisy Lowe and her professional partner Aljaž Skorjanec.
Both couples performed their routines again; Greg and Natalie did their Paso Doble to ‘Tamacun’ by Rodrigo y Gabriela and Daisy and Aljaž performed their Salsa to ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ by Deee-Lite in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
The results show also included a special Remembrance Sunday routine featuring AJ Prichard and Chloe Hewitt who told the enduring love story of 93-year old Basil and Madge Lambert, with Basil and Madge themselves joining the Professional Dancers at the end of the routine. Plus there was also a musical performance from André Rieu.
Ratings wise this weekend, as usual the beeb show had the best of the night with ten million turning to Strictly Come Dancing (45.4%) on Saturday night with a peak of 10.93m (48.6%) at 7.55pm. ITV’s search for the next big singing talent on The X Factor pulled in 6.03 million viewers (28.6%) with a peak of 6.93m (32.6%) at 8.55pm.
The remaining seven couples will take to one of the most famous dance floors in the world next week when Strictly Come Dancing heads to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Saturday 19th November at 6.55pm with the results show on Sunday 20th November at 7.15pm on BBC One.
