ITV’s Judge Rinder is the eleventh celebrity to depart the BBC dance floor in Strictly Come Dancing 2016.
“I honestly don’t know what to say, every single person involved in this programme has so much love for it and that permeates through the screen. It’s a joy to be here, every single person, there’s too many people to thank but I even want to thank the judges. I know how difficult it is sometimes to be a judge and you do it with authenticity and enthusiasm and thank you all for your comments.” – Robert Rinder
The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ vote to decide the two lowest scoring couples to face each other in the dance off. This week, that was BBC Sports Presenter Ore Oduba and his professional partner Joanne Clifton and star of Judge Rinder, Robert Rinder and his professional partner Oksana Platero.
Both couples performed their routines again; Ore and Joanne did their Foxtrot to ‘Pure Imagination’ from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Judge Rinder and Oksana performed their Samba to ‘Oh! What a Night!’ from Jersey Boys in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
After both couples had danced a second time, Tess asked the judges’ based on the dance off alone, which couple they wanted to save and their reasons for saving them. The judges’ vote was unanimous and they all chose to save Ore and Joanne.
“And my last thank you and my most important one, this truly extraordinary person, this teacher who has shown me from somebody who could barely walk to music with no dance experience at all to find a passion and a love for dance and that’s the best kind of teaching. You are never too old to try something new and everyone should try dancing, thank you so much.” – Robert Rinder
Sunday’s results show also featured Singer and Actress Elaine Paige with a special rendition of ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina‘ from the musical, Evita. The remaining four couples will return to the dancefloor for the Strictly Come Dancing Semi Final -where each couple will perform two dances – on Saturday 10th December at 6.50pm with the results show on Sunday 11th December at7.20pm on BBC One.
